Daily delight: Eva Green’s nude lip – and body – in Tatler, December 2009

Actress Eva Green is a habitual wearer of the reddest of red lips, which lend her a vaguely gothic air when paired with her chocolate brown, flowing tresses and often dark attire. For a cover shot and photo series in the December issue of style bible Tatler however, the Bond girl and generally kooky chick is sporting a fresh nude lip, and looks all the more sassy for it. The photos – shot by Ricardo Tinelli – are a homage to Helmut Newton, with one recreating a classic Seventies portrait of British actress Charlotte Rampling. Sitting on a polished antique table in front of an ornately gilded mirror, the Casino Royale star has only a glass of wine for company as she mimics photographer Newton’s memorable image from 1973. I’m a passionate fan of red lipstick but have to say that this shoot is pushing me towards a near nude for Summer, and is a great look for Green. My picks for how to recreate this lip are a thorough going over of the lip with Smashbox’s super neutral lipliner Light, and Velvet Teddy, my favourite M.A.C matte skin tone shade. Delish.
