Daily delight: side pinned, super soft curls

A beautiful, easy style that I’m loving at the moment is side pinned, super soft and feminine curls. The perfect answer to the upcoming part season that suits most hair types that are shoulder length or longer, they were created perfectly for designer James Coviello’s recent Fall 2009 show. “James Coviello was inspired by exuberant graphic patterns and the eclectic style of the early-twentieth-century arts and crafts movement,” said superstar hairstylist Rodney Cutler, who crafted the look for Coviello’s show. “To complement the clothing, we created soft, beautiful waves with a strong side part to give that classic vibe.” First, Cutler misted his own Volumizing Spray onto damp hair. Next, he used a large round brush and dried it in to add volume. After creating spirals throughout the hair with a one-inch curling iron, he then smoothed strands across the front and pinned at the temple for a sweetly retro spin. For a soft hold he finished with Redken Workforce 09 Flexible Volumizing Spray to leave a sense of movement in the hair. Gorgeous!
