Daily delight: discover greenissexy.org
One of my favourite websites to check regularly right now is greenissexy.org, an eco living venture created by three very passionate – but not in the seaweed sandal wearing way – women. Actress Rachel McAdams (pictured) and her gal pals, Megan Kuhlmann and Didi Bethurum have been living environmentally responsible lives for a while now and wanted to share their “green” tips for making simple changes that have a maximum impact to limit your environmental footprint. With simple suggestions like carrying your plastic bottle from lunch until you find a recycle bin, to homemade recipes for flavoured water (so you stop buying the sugar-filled crap usually found in your local supermarket) this website has a little something for everyone, as well as some super clever beauty tips on what to look out for in some of the most seemingly innocuous of products. They acknowledge that the perception of eco-friendly may not have shifted completely to eco-chic just yet, but the movement is gaining momentum. “We think being green is sexy. To us, being green means being informed, intelligent and proactive, which are all sexy qualities,” they say. What is unusual is that McAdams and Co. are making this a real casual affair and looking for your input on tips, sexy green people, and other issues that might help make a difference. From the site:
“green is sexy is about tiny changes, big impact. Why sexy? Because being informed is sexy. Being responsible is sexy. Being eco-friendly is sexy. Making a difference is sexy. Green is sexy. We invite you to become part of the green is sexy community by helping us change the world one day at a time.”
I encourage you to check it out – and you won’t come away smelling like a communal yoga mat, I promise!
