Daily delight: NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Aigle Noir

No matter how hard the alpha make up maestros try and cajole us into trying a brand new look, a hell of a lot of women just love their old pal Smokey Eye. It can get boring when you stick to your greys and blacks all of the time though, and often other shades are a lot more foolproof. I was terribly excited to receive today a NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Aigle Noir, a sultry, smokey dark brownish-black with green-gold shimmer laced through it (see right). NARS says the Soft Touch Shadow Pencils are the “ideal base for layering with powder eyeshadow to increase color intensity”, and it’s also a good option for daytime on its own. A smooth and creamy formula, it doesn’t drag the delicate skin around the eyes when you layer it up, and is essentially a great long-wearing eye colour with super easy application. It can be used for shading the lid, smudging along the lash line, or highlighting the brow bone or inner corner of the eye and can be easily blended, which we like. Use a primer on your eyelids first for an even more seamless application.
