Loving: Leighton Denny’s ‘The Iconic Collection’
When I interviewed UK celebrity manicurist and generally fabulous guy Leighton Denny a few years back, I was struck by just how passionate the ex-truck driver was about making women’s hand look as gorgeous as possible with his to-kill-for products. Each collection he releases is as on trend as they come, and his formulations last longer than any other nail name I’ve tried. This Summer I’m all over his brand new ‘The Iconic Collection’, which has beautifully captured the glamour and glitz of the 1940s in a collection of six high performance nail colours for Spring/Summer 2010. Inspired by famous femme fatales and iconic silver screen movies of the 40s, the collection of iconic shades encompasses both the soft and show stopping looks that once dominated Hollywood. The collection is inspired shade-wise by the colourful catwalk looks of British designers such as John Galliano and Burberry with the ultimate in playful sexiness and unabashed fun. Love that! My favourites are the shades above, namely:
Brief Encounter - A new take on taupe, caramel beige with a sophisticated shimmer
Notorious - A daring deep teal
The Heiress - A blue-belle purple
If I had to pick, that is! I’d also like to add that the great man’s hand cream is the best I’ve tried, hands down (pun intended). It’s a must for Summer as it’s got a decent SPF thrown into its high performance formula, and the fact that I’ve just run out has meant that I’m totally gutted on this unexpectedly sunny day!
