Love: the stellar return of the natural brow
Natural brows – seen here at Christopher Kane and also during Paris Fashion Week on the runway at Jean Paul Gaultier – are a trend that has become much more than that, and it’s here to stay. International make up star Rae Morris told me recently that a great strong brow is the one accessory that we all need in our lives, and after a few years of skinny brows it’s fabulous to see them back in business. Nothing says natural, youthful beauty quite like a full brow, and designers and make up teams at the A/W 11-12 shows celebrated by swapping discreet and groomed looks for practical, grown-out brows. Balenciaga really cemented the trend with their Paris showing, banishing the slim-line, barely there, almost alien bleached brows of the previous season in favour of a full and most definite arch. Follow Aussie model-of-the-moment Bambi Northwood Blythe for a guide to where your brows should be sitting right now, and opt for a tidy and some brow gel over the tweezers of the past. Love this look!
