French beauty brand Clarins always does things with a little extra je ne sais quoi, and their foray into the perfect self-tanner for the face is no exception.
Called simply Instant Smooth Self Tanning, it combines the magic of Clarins' iconic and always-popular Instant Smooth with the gorgeous glow of a self tan, giving you the glow of a holiday in the tropics and a fine line-free, good skin day every day.
A caramel-tinted complexion perfector and self tanner all in one, it also instantly tints the skin so that you can see where you've already applied the tan, and go heavier or keep it light depending on your complexion. It then progressively develops into a gorgeous, semi-permanent, sun-kissed glow in just 1-2 hours.
Quick to apply and even quicker to dry, its air whipped mousse texture is an absolute delight to apply and feels like heaven on the skin, as opposed to an extra layer of product clogging it up. It really does glide on, and works almost like a primer to even out your skin’s texture. And like many a Clarins product, it comes in a subtle yet luxurious, heavy pot and has a fruity fresh peach fragrance with just a hint of almond to it.
Apply it using the fingertips, stroking the velvety-smooth product evenly over your face and – to keep things natural - décolleté. Apply it daily until you reach the colour intensity you crave, and then reapply every 2-3 days as a top up. Oh and for best results, lightly exfoliate before application and always – without fail! – wash your hands well afterwards.
