Getting serious about skin: Lancôme Visionnaire
Last week I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at – and have a wee play with – some of Lancome’s hottest new makeup and skincare releases for the next six months. They ranged from exquisitely feminine eye palettes to serious suncare, as well as the industry-leading innovations in high performance skincare that the mega brand has become famous for.
They also talked the runaway success of Visionnaire, which has been a major part of 2011’s beauty landscape all over the world. Twelve years in development, the skincare hit contains a brand new beauty molecule - LR 2412 - that was independently tested by scientists at Manchester University for proven efficacy - they said they were “impressed with what we saw.” LR 2412 is a true multitasker because it has multiple effects within different areas of the skin. And as a result, Visionnaire can target several different skincare concerns at once: billed as the ultimate “advanced skin corrector serum”, it can reduce wrinkles, minimise pores, correct pigmentation irregularities and restore radiance. And who doesn’t love that?
Proven to be as effective as retinol, it’s also more gentle on the skin: it can be used around the eyes, and on all skin types, even the most sensitive. This is a huge selling point for the majority of women I know who now count "sensitivity" as one of their most frustrating skin concerns.
Visionnaire isn’t there to replace Lancôme's hit serum Genefique - which is sold more as a preventive rather than corrective measure – but works in unison with it if you so choose for a super duper anti-ageing boost. High performance, serious skincare doesn’t get much better than this.
