Beauty destination: BLISS reflexology, Newmarket
With all of the craziness and stress in my world of late I’ve
come to appreciate the ‘art of taking time out’ so much more. With that in mind,
I took myself off to BLISS reflexology in Newmarket for an experience that took
me a million miles away from the worry of my daily life and left me feeling
restored.
BLISS – which also has branches in the central city and
Takapuna - offers the ancient Chinese art of reflexology and deeply relaxing
traditional massage, and I popped in for a beautiful mix of both.
For those that have never experienced it – shame on you! - reflexology
is a natural therapy working on the principle that different areas of the feet
and hands are related to different areas of the body and helps to restore and
maintain the body's natural equilibrium and encourage healing. Following
illness, stress, injury or disease, it is in a state of "imbalance",
and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning
effectively. Reflexology treats the whole person, not just the symptoms of
disease, and it can be used to address everything from anxiety to depression, digestive
disorders and sinusitis.
After a reflexology session you generally should feel
extremely relaxed, and your sleep may be improved and any physical symptoms
that you may have been feeling may subside. And there is frequently a sensation
of 'walking on air' on leaving, together with the lightness of spirit that this
feeling brings. How good is that?
That is definitely how I felt after a neck, back and arm
massage, then a 45-minute foot massage followed by a 45-minute body massage.
Incredible. BLISS also have a Japanese Stone Spa and do Traditional Chinese
Pedicure, which mid-winter is definitely next on my wish list.
If you’re in the market for happy feet, BLISS is at Two
Double Five, Level 1/255 Broadway, Newmarket or visit here for their other locations.
Sometimes we feel pain in our foot after passing a stressful and busy life. Then we think now should take a luxury reflexology. I suggest you don't need to go outside for this. You can get a relaxation by collecting a home foot massager.
