Love it: YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats

I had the pleasure of playing with the new YSL makeup offering a few weeks back and have fallen madly, passionately, insanely in love with the lipsticks (and most of the rest too, but that’s another story!).
The collection’s lip releases are gloriously matte variations on the iconic YSL red and inspired by iconic rock groups, which I just love. My favourite is the Rouge Pur Couture The Mats Lipstick Nº 203 Rouge Rock – a true YSL red inspired by Queen. Think pure, beautiful colour and the best thing? It’s matte. And radiant! The formula of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats is designed to have a "stretch" texture and is formulated with "Coloreveal technology". This allows them to have a matte finish that still looks supple, radiant, and soft, and touted to last for a full six hours. The luminous matte effect is achieved using a silicone gel, more than 25 per cent of the formula, that has a soft, velvety feel, diffuses light and makes the colour glow to its core. Like, seriously glow.
It’s also ultra comfortable and easy to apply. The ultra-light, non-oily silicone gel combined with spherical powders makes the lipstick glide on with no drag, and Jojoba oil blended with emollient agents keeps it feeling good too.
And now to the best part: the end result. This is not your average, flat and chalky matte lipstick, and has zero feeling of dryness and doesn’t settle lip lines. Sound too good to be true? Well it’s not! If you’re a fan of beautifully radiant, saucy matte reds then this is definitely the lippy for you!
