In love with: O&M's Original Queenie hairspray
Hairspray is one of the unsung heroes of beauty, thought of
often as just an old school afterthought when all of the
foams/mousses/waxes/serums have been thrown in to do their stuff. When they are
good however this is most definitely not the case – and O&M Original
Queenie is my long locks’ new best friend.
The seriously great Australian haircare brand calls it “a
twist on the stone cold classic,” and it is as flexible as it gets but reins
things in where you need it. There is also no trace of the flaking or unwanted
stickiness that comes with many a spray, and I love the fact that it is made
from natural ingredients. One of these is Lilly Pilly, which works to absorb
oil from the hair almost in the style of a dry shampoo, and Quandong, which
moisturises the hair and protects it during heat styling.
And although it retails for $38.00 when many a respectable
formula costs a lot less, in my opinion it is totally worth it for a number of
reasons. The first is that you need just a few sprays for some major hold,
flyaways and curls are easily tamed and volume stays in place. It also smells
divine – a factor common to the O&M brand and their collection of killer
prods – and it has not been tested on animals. Last but not least, it comes in
the cutest watermelon pink can! Love it.
