Why you need: Weleda Iris Hydrating Masque

I don’t know about you, but right now my skin is really feeling the effects of the heat, holiday festivities and loads of time spent outdoors – and it’s not thanking me for it!
Cue the arrival on my desk – and now in my bathroom - of Weleda’s beautiful Iris Hydrating Masque, which when used regularly, helps give your skin a boost beyond belief – even if you have been burning the candle at both ends and chugging on chardonnay rather than curly kale smoothies!
The iris plant is one of those unique creatures that has the ability to adapt to extreme environmental conditions, surviving in both desert and wetland areas. One of nature’s survivors, it stays in bloom no matter what Mother Earth tries to throw at it, a quality we’d all love to see in our skin.
In line with the physical make up of the plant, the Iris extract (Weleda uses iris plants biodynamically harvested in the Tuscan region of Italy) present in this tube of goodness - derived from the rhizome (root) - first moisturises the outermost epidermal layer of the skin. This process reportedly produces keratin, giving the skin resilience and melanin, which then helps protect the skin from sunlight. Add to that a high quality mix of almond and jojoba oil to soothe, soften and strengthen skin's own protective barrier and prevent future dehydration and you have a wee powerhouse at your fingertips.
I’ve been popping it on once or twice a week in the evening for around 20 minutes and my skin absolutely soaks it up, so get in there and grab one for yourself!
