Milan Fashion Week how to: Alberta Ferretti A/W 13 by Guido

Redken Global Styling Director Guido shook up the hair look at Alberta Ferretti’s A/W 13 show at Milan Fashion Week with the perfect mix of modern and classically romantic in the form of a French Twist.
The style was reportedly a direct reflection of the collection itself: the clothes were pretty and feminine yet exuded more strength and structure than we usually see from Ferretti, while Guido played with a new texture for the hair, giving a traditional French twist more shape and sass in a similar way.
"I really used quite a lot of product to help me create the style for this look,” said the super stylist, “as I wanted to ensure it wasn't too soft or too pretty of a French twist. By first drenching wet hair in Redken's full frame 07 mousse I created a different texture- and the texture is what gives the look another dimension.” He also added the new high hold Redken control addict 28 hairspray, layering it on as the style dried to keep it stiff, strong, and wet looking. “You see then that the hair really becomes almost a different substance; it's romantic yet also modern and more 'nighttime', even a little tougher, and cooler."
To get the look at home:
* Starting with damp hair, create a middle part and then saturate with full frame 07 mousse working section by section and adding most on the crown.
 * Begin to rake hair back and wrap up into a French twist, but leave two front sections on either side of the part out before you start to twist up.
* Pin the twist into place and then sculpt the shape of the front of the style by pulling back the sections you left out with your fingers, keeping the center part visible.
* Pin the sections back into the twist, leaving the ends out to create a few wisps and ensure it's not "too perfect."
* Spray a generous amount of control addict 28 high control hairspray all over finished style as it dries for extra hold.
