Valentine’s Day love: Mission Estate Fête cuvée

I love a great tasting, affordable sparkling cuvée when the weather heats up and there is a reason to pop a cork or two, and a nice pick for this Valentine’s Day is Mission Estate Fête, which is an absolute steal at around $24.00.
94.5 per cent Pinot Gris and 5.5 per cent Chardonnay, the grapes that make up this wee bottle of joy were hand harvested and sourced from Mission’s vineyards at Greenmeadows in Taradale, where they have cultivated grapes for wine production for 100 years.
The wine has a softness and lightness with creamy characteristics, and there is a delicate pear aroma with a hint of almond and biscuit that would make it perfect for a glass with canapes whilst the sun is still shining come Thursday afternoon. “Fête” is French for party or celebration and was crafted to celebrate 160 years of Mission's winemaking and pioneering heritage, and I think it's also a great way to start one of your own!
