Love it: Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

Reading this great interview with the seriously wonderful Virginie Courtin-Clarins on Into The Gloss this morning I was reminded how much I love the brand, which is the first skincare collection I started using at the age of seventeen. My mother’s side of the family are of French heritage (hence my first name, Hélène-Nicole) and before makeup even became an interest I was intrigued by what good skincare could do. Hopefully years of caring for my skin have paid off, and Clarins are still developing and releasing some seriously innovative products.

One that cleverly combines makeup with skincare elements is their Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector, a tube of which I always have in my handbag for those no-makeup-with-makeup days and just for a hydrating boost. A collection of six - three new shades (pictured above) were just added, yay! - softly textured lip gels, they add just enough shine to keep things classy whilst leaving lips looking and feeling soft, smooth and plump. Along with a 3D effect that makes your lips look absolutely delectable, each of the shades is sheer, but has enough colour to wear alone or to complement your favourite lip shade. The new Rosewood shimmer is definitely my pick as the temperature drops and the perfect neutral for my skin tone.
