Love it: the KEVIN.MURPHY SHIMMER.BUG

From the minute the KEVIN.MURPHY COLOR.BUG collection landed people were absolutely mad for it. It gave mere mortals the ability to go crazy with the colour of their locks with next to zero commitment, and much fun has been had since its release!
What I’m excited about however is a new product that is designed to give you pretty much instant golden bronze highlights - the magnificent SHIMMER.BUG. Joining the existing COLOR.BUG shades in pink, purple, orange, white and neon, this new shimmery hue can be swiped onto hair for quick colour application and then - like its neon hued brothers and sisters - can be easily washed out.
“SHIMMER.BUG is an exciting new addition to the COLOR.BUG line,” explained Kevin Murphy, stylist and founder of KEVIN.MURPHY. “The golden bronze hue yields multi-dimensional highlights without the commitment of permanent colour. From the outer coppery metallic packaging to the inner bronze pressed powder, everything about this new product shouts glam and glitz. For golden highlights on dark hair, or to add radiance to lighter or red tones, SHIMMER.BUG is quick and convenient. Simply wipe on, then wash out!”
To get the warm, shimmery look apply the product directly to dry hair, and for more intense colour, prep the hair first with a thicker paste product like UN.DRESSED. For a lighter shade, use a spray like HAIR.RESORT.SPRAY first and then apply away, and for very blonde or chemically dehydrated hair, use a deep conditioner before application. Always make sure your clothing is covered, and really massage the product into your hair, shaking out any excess, to ensure it’s spread evenly. Too easy!
The launch of SHIMMER.BUG also coincides with a competition to win an Apple Macbook Pro. Each new SHIMMER.BUG comes with a golden ticket under the cap, which has a unique code. To enter, visit www.kevinmurphy.com.au/shimmercomp and pop in your unique code before saying in 25 words or less what your fave KEVIN.MURPHY product is, and why. The salon that sells the winning SHIMMER.BUG will also receive a prize in the form of an iPad. The competition runs June 1 – August 31, 2013, with the website going LIVE May 1, 2013.
