Beauty news: Juvederm’s latest for lips is now in at FaceWorks
Whenever anyone asks me who the person to go to is for that
little bit extra when skincare just won’t cut it, I send them straight to Dr.
Teresa Cattin at Faceworks. She really is the best in the business when it
comes to Botox, fillers and supercharged skin rejuvenation, and her passion for
her craft is second to none. She is also the person to talk to about
innovations in the industry pretty much as they happen, so when she came back
from a conference in Paris a couple of months ago I knew she’d be bringing back
something exciting.
Her newest treatment is in the area of lip augmentation and
seriously gives the softest, most natural look I have ever seen courtesy of
Juvederm’s newest formula. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers have most definitely
evolved as a mainstay for lip augmentation over the past few years. In fact, in
Europe, there are around 70 or more of them on offer, yet only a few top brands
you should care about. But the disconnect about lip enhancement is the dreaded
trout pout, bee sting and duck lips look that gets pointed out on the red carpet
all too often (think Courtney Love circa 2007, Lisa Rinna anytime), which is a
shame because done well, it can be transformative in the very best sense of the
word. You may not ends up with smackers like Adriana (above), but you will end up with the best version of what you've got, which can be that much more satisfying.
So that brings me back to Teresa’s latest treatment, which
was formulated when Allergan, the BOTOX® and Juvederm® people, set out to put
an end to the stigma of overblown lips for good. Launched - as aforementioned -
at IMCAS in Paris in January, the new
Juvederm® filler is not only designed for restoring lost lip volume, but also
for defining lip contours, treating oral commissures (the corners of the
mouth that turn down), smoothing fine vertical lines around the lips, and
plumping up the marionette lines (the ones that go from the corners of your
mouth down to your chin). The addition of lidocaine (0.3%) makes the treatment virtually
painless, and the fact the formula itself has the consistency of a silky serum
makes it even easier to tolerate. Teresa calls it “the most technologically
advanced dermal filler on the market- very soft and gentle to use so gives a
perfectly natural result,” and is amazed by the lack of swelling after
treatment, as well as the longevity of the product’s effects once its in.
She is currently the only doctor who is able to offer the treatment
in either Australia or New Zealand and is a master with the needle. If you feel
like your lips need a lift then I highly recommend you give her a call - click through
