Beauty news: M.A.C loves the magnificent Maleficent
There is definitely something to be said for Angelina
Jolie’s marvellous Maleficent, with her perfectly arched eyebrows, piercing
bright green eyes and blood-red lips. Consequently, it comes as no surprise
that M.A.C Cosmetics has created a capsule collection to complement Disney's
highly anticipated live-action "Sleeping Beauty" remake, and that it
will inevitably be a huge hit for the brand.
This isn't the first time that M.A.C has used
"Maleficent" as their muse. The company released a killer "Venomous
Villain" collection in Fall 2010 inspired by four characters: Cruella de
Vil, "Snow White's" Evil Queen, "The Princess and the
Frog's" De Falicier, and "Sleeping Beauty's"
Maleficent.
The company has yet to debut the collection's photos, but I’m
expecting a collection focused on dark, dramatic and eye-catching colours that
mix glam with more than a touch of luxe goth. Toni G was Jolie's makeup artist
on set, and legendary special makeup effects artist Rick Baker created added
elements to complete Jolie's character look.
The eleven-piece assortment will have its global debut next Northern
summer, and include face, eye, lip and nail products. M.A.C summed up the new
product line in a few striking words: "Being bad never looked so good…”
and I could not agree more.
