Love it: Kevin Murphy YOUNG.AGAIN wash, rinse and masque
A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to meet - and get a
killer blow wave from - Kevin Murphy Educator Nathan Gorman. A veritable goldmine
of hair tips and tricks, Nathan worked in London before moving to Portugal to
direct hair and makeup for film and TV, then joined the KEVIN.MURPHY team in
2010. He has been Kevin’s “right hand man” ever since with good reason, and is
incredibly charming to boot.
The occasion was the arrival of the brand’s YOUNG.AGAIN
wash, rinse and masque, an inevitable creation after the runaway success of the
original YOUNG.AGAIN, an anti-ageing treatment
oil that offers exfoliation properties to expose fresh, clean hair every time
you use it. The new arrivals have been created in order to further help
combat the aging process of hair, and were designed to “help renew youthful
lustre and shine” to dry, damaged or brittle hair.
YOUNG.AGAIN wash is an Immortelle and Baobab-infused
restorative softening shampoo that works to both cleanse and prep the hair to
receive the essential ingredients of the masque and the rinse. The rinse is formulated
to lock down the cuticle and lock in moisture, and the masque to address all the
factors that relate to the premature aging of hair. I only use the masque about
once a week for a little extra TLC, and I love the fact that I can leave about
20 per cent of the conditioner in my hair post-wash as a leave-in (thanks for
the tip, Nathan!) and it smells delicious.
The key ingredients in the range that were chosen for
their longevity and resilience are:
Six Australian rainforest fruit extracts that are rich in
vitamins and essential fatty acids, as well as shown to flourish despite the
harsh climatic conditions.
Baobab seed oil to provide moisturising benefits to the hair while improving
elasticity and tone.
Orchid flower extract, which is rich in proteins, reinforces
hair strength and provides intense hydration.
Immortelle for its extraordinary healing qualities and great
regenerating ability
Lotus flower extract to protect the hair from moisture loss, leaving hair soft and
supple
Kakadu plum extracts for the repair of damaged hair.
Phospholipids to create a skin-like barrier to lock in
moisture.
Bamboo extract due to its restorative effects and ability to
add natural shine and lustre to the hair.
All of these work together to elicit some pretty amazing
results, so if your hair is in need of an anti-ageing regime all of its own
then I highly recommend that you check it out!
