Love it: Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss & Blush

Sure we’ve all seen hybrid/dual purpose lip + cheek colours or lip/cheek balms before, and liquid lipstick, too. But with a range of gorgeous, youthful shades, the softest, mousse-y matte formula, and beautifully luxe presentation, YSL has found a way to make the concepts seem new and even more covetable. But hey, this is YSL - no surprise there! So yes, YSL’s new Baby Doll Kiss & Blush is my latest luxury beauty obsession for creating a pretty matte flush on lips and cheeks with easy and lashings of style.

An air-whipped, two-in-one mousse formula for lips and cheeks, it is a little miracle in that it won’t dry out the lips or make cheeks feel sticky. When you first dab it on your cheeks, you think it’s going to be too obvious and overdone, but once you start blending, it’s not at all. The matte finish for lips feels creamy and moisturising, and for both you can build up colour for exactly the kind of ‘pop’ you want/need.

Available in 12 beautiful and super flattering colours, you can also mix and match them for customised colour all your own or follow the lead of Creative Director Makeup Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, Lloyd Simmons, who devised a few different cocktails that you can find online. He also has a few ideas for application when it comes to blush that are very cool, including using a large brush to create a diaphanous, soft focus effect on the prominent part of the cheekbone. Gorgeous.

I can't say enough about how much I love these. Beautiful unique texture, blends on cheeks nicely and is very long lasting. On lips it gives you amazing pigmentat without the shine, making it perfect for day time or night time and especially on hot summer days when you're not looking to have glossy lips melting off and all over your pina colada. The $76.00 price hurts a lot less when you realize how little you need for a punch of colour too - this is a product where less really is more.

So to conclude: this is multi-purpose beauty product that will speed up your primping process, but deliver double results for your money. Love it.
