Love it: Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick in matte

Anyone who knows me – or reads this blog on regular basis – will know that when it comes to lipstick, I’m mad about matte. Not just a bit excited, but all out obsessed. I started wearing matte lippy in the late ‘80’s (showing my age, yikes!) and never stopped, so I’ve been beyond pleased to see that it’s coming back into favour of late in a major way.
The latest matte creation I’ve heard about is courtesy of the clever people at Elizabeth Arden, and goes by the name Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick. They are a riot of velvety, matte, pigment-rich colour but encapsulated in a lustrously moisturising formula: as in matte lips that don’t compromise on condition or give that chalky look common to so many formulas. Moisturising butters surround each pigment to help condition lips while providing colour that lasts up to 12 hours with no fade. It also includes what the brand calls a Smoothing Butter Complex: a natural trio of Mango, Shea and Murumuru butters that infuse lips with nourishing, conditioning and soothing oils, whilst Argan Oil and Vitamin E provide antioxidant protection.
Available at Elizabeth Arden counters nationwide right now in eight beautiful shades, the palette was curated by Elizabeth Arden Global Makeup Artist, Rebecca Restrepo and runs the gamut from timeless to totally on trend.
Coral Crush is a great coral shade, whilst Nude is a soft yellow-based neutral that is incredibly flattering. Pink Pucker is pale and definitely for the girlie girls out there, Raspberry a killer hot pink, Rose Petal (my fave) a soft mauve-pink that looks fresh on all skintones. Chocolate and Bold Red are pretty self explanatory, whilst Barely There is a warm, universally flattering nude shade.
