Hair how to: Daisy Ridley, Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere, Shanghai
It has been amazing watching UK actor Daisy
Ridley absolutely nailing the red carpet thing whilst on the promo tour for Star
Wars: The Force Awakens – and her beauty look as been as on point as her
stylist’s outfit choices. To put it simply: she has looked - and no doubt will continue to look – incredible
at premieres all around the world.
The star of Star Wars star has also been
winning praise for her role in the box office record-breaking film, and
captivated on-lookers with her look at the Shanghai, China premiere of the movie
just days before the New Year. Wearing an absolutely breathtaking royal purple
Jason Wu dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Tyler Alexandra clutch, celebrity
hairstylist Robert Vetica created a feminine up do for her that fitted
perfectly.
Here’s how to get the look at home, using
Joico:
1. To begin, spritz Joico’s Flip Turn
Volumising Spray from roots to tips to get a long-lasting style.
2. For extra volume, blow dry your hair
ensuring you get underneath each section of hair and lift it up and away from
the head.
3. Flip your head and focus on the roots
for about 10 minutes on a low to almost no-heat setting. As the hair got more
shape and body, put in Joico’s Hair Shake for added texture and volume.
4. For a solid base, divide and clip the
hair into three sections - top, middle and nape - and loosely tease each
section at the root. If you‘re going for volume and for sleekness, use a boar
bristle brush and then a paddle brush to ensure it doesn’t look frizzy.
5. Use a 1/2 barrel curling iron and hold
it in an asymmetrical pattern to get a more natural looking style.
6. Roll the hair outward, away from your
face, and begin pinning to create a bun. When pinning the hair always aim
for it to hit the crown of her head, so that it can sit in place and take the
desired shape.
7. Once the bun is fully set, begin pulling
out a few strands from the twists in the bun so that they aren’t so tight, and
have more body to get a more modern, youthful appearance. Also pull some
to frame your face.
8. Apply Joico’s K-Pak Colour Therapy
Dry Oil Spray onto a teasing comb and go over any fly-aways around the face and
smooth out certain areas of the bun.
9. Once the style is complete, mist
the Joico Flip Turn Volumising Spray all over to set the hair.
