Love it: Lancôme Hypnôse Volume-à-Porter mascara

Quintessentially French but definitely global beauty brand Lancôme has long been associated with major innovations in the area of eye makeup, perhaps more so than any other name on the block. Amazingly, they were responsible for unleashing upon the beauty world the first bottled mascara and, more recently, the first double-twist stem.  

Their latest innovation is the amazing Hypnôse Volume-à-Porter Cashmere Sensation Volume Mascara, which contains a dash of colour and light volume adding just the right lift to your lashes. They call it a “cashmere sensation volume mascara” and as a fan of a) cashmere and b) great mascara, I have to say I was intrigued.

Its main features are:

Impressive! So far I have found the brush really easy to use and it helps to curl up my lashes really nicely - no curlers required even with very straight lashes like mine. It is also easily buildable, and the formula is a true jet black and super dries fast. Its 306 bristles guarantee even and generous application, without overloading. The wonderfully soft brush gently combs the lashes. Its shorter bristles coat them with mascara all the way from the root, while the longer bristles stretch the formula out to the tips.

I love that it feels super light and comfortable on the lashes and that they stay flexible without a hint of crispiness, despite having a significantly dramatic look about them with just two coats or more. It has been called “feather-weight yet maxi-effective”  - think about va-va-voom lashes that don’t feel like you have a lot of makeup on them.

It also comes swaddled in a jewel-like lacquered bottle in metallic gunmetal grey, so isn’t a tube to be hidden away!

Last but not least, as the weeks go by, its complex - enriched with an exclusive Lancôme Native Rose Cells extract - helps leave bare lashes softer and more resistant for a denser, thicker lash fringe. Sheer perfection and in store now.
