Love it: Jo Malone London’s The Herb Garden Collection
I love it when an unexpected scent catches my interest,
especially when one of its key notes is a herb that isn’t usually top of my
list. That is exactly what happened when I first sprayed on Jo Malone London’s
Lavender & Coriander cologne from the iconic luxury scent company’s latest
release, titled The Herb Garden Collection.
A new, limited edition collection of five fragrances
inspired by "the aromatic artistry of herbs", the full line up of
beauties is:
Sorrel & Lemon Thyme ~ with lemon, bigarade,
petitgrain, sorrel, lemon thyme, rosemary, geranium leaves and moss.
Wild Strawberry & Parsley ~ with strawberry,
blackcurrant, parsley, tomato leaves and violet.
Nasturtium & Clover ~ with rocket, lemon, clover,
nasturtium, jasmine and vetiver.
Carrot Blossom & Fennel ~ with carrot, rose, orange
blossom water and iris.
Lavender & Coriander ~ lavender, coriander, sage
and tonka bean.
I read online that this beautiful – and insanely wearable - collection
is the latest addition to the Brit Collection, and each perfume can be worn
alone, or layered up with any of the other fragrances in the collection. The
collection is inspired by a day in the herb garden – AKA “the aromatic artistry
of herbs - and brings to mind a quirky tapestry of foliage, flower, citrus,
moss, spice, leaves and greens. I love that each fragrance has a green, grassy
feel to it but it isn’t overpowering and never “fake” (for want of a better word), and that
many like my favourite Lavender & Coriander are gloriously unisex. A
distinctive feature of the line is also its design: this time around the colognes
are produced in smoky-green glass bottles decorated with 'herbal' prints. They
are a true joy to behold and I for one hope they’ll one day be added to the
permament line!
Last up, the nose behind the range is the legendary Anne
Flipo, who created the likes of Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto Le Parfum, Acqua di Gioia, Acqua di Gioia Essenza and Lancôme's
Tresor Midnight Rose, both best sellers for a reason. I reckon this new
collection for Jo Malone London will do just the same, and as its in store now
I suggest you get your skates on!
