Fragrance in focus: Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Couture

It’s been called the moment “when haute couture and perfume become one”, and when it lands on counter in a couple weeks I predict Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Couture will be one of the silly season’s most gifted fragrances.
The Amsterdam-based Dutch fashion design duo is not known for doing things by halves, and this sultry new version of one of their most popular releases does not disappoint. A new version of the super cute and unabashedly sweet Bonbon perfume from 2014, Bonbon Couture is a more opulent, intense interpretation of the original that will appeal even to those who usually eschew sweeter scents.
The "Haute Couture" reinterpretation of the fragrance is more intensive and luxurious, with more prominent notes of caramel but in a very “adult” way. Cecile Matton and Serge Majoullier, the perfumers behind the original, also designed Bonbon Couture, giving it a more sensual oriental-gourmand composition than the original. The sultry scent begins with a juicy combination of mandarin, neroli oil and peach. Its creamy heart notes include white flowers such as orange blossom and Sambac jasmine, sweetened by a potent caramel note. To top everything off, the base is defined by a woody accord of sandalwood and patchouli, with vanilla and blonde tobacco. In a word: sexy, in fact very much so.
So if you’re on the hunt for a truly feminine, party season perfume or are looking to buy one for someone who is, then I wholeheartedly recommend the sexy beast that is Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Couture, she is a beauty!

Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Couture is on counter October 17, starting at RRP $138.00 for 30ml.
