Love it: By Terry's Rouge Expert Click Stick

In 1988, after 15 years working in haute couture cosmetics, self-described “beauty designer” and inventor of the iconic Touche Eclat, Terry de Gunzburg launched By Terry, her own signature line of makeup and skincare.

Using only the purest ingredients and the latest high-performing formulas, By Terry’s raison d’être is nourished and luminous skin, and I am yet to meet a product of hers that I haven’t fallen immediately head over heels for. Two of the line’s most coveted products – Éclat Opulent Nutri-Lifting Foundation and Baume de Rose – are cult favorites among beauty gurus, and whenever I pop into my local Mecca Cosmetica store for a pre-evening out makeover I always request a little By Terry be thrown in there somewhere for an added glow.

The latest By Terry product to capture my heart is Rouge Expert Click Stick, a fabulously high-achieving hybrid lipstick that comes with what the brand calls “the power of three”: bold colour impact, glam tech texture and contour control.

Reportedly created in part to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Light-Expert Click Brush - By Terry’s iconic foundation in a brush - the lipstick’s unique click-pen applicator is a nod to the brand's aforementioned cult-favourite and a brilliant weapon against waste. Its droplet-shaped tip allows you to line your lips with pencil-like precision and then fill them in for full, long-lasting coverage. It really does line flawlessly, making it a great handbag addition for touch ups on the go without having to scramble for a matching lip liner.

The collection let’s you choose from among 25 sumptuous velvety matte shades, including a vast bounty of pinky nudes as well as a few pops of colour in the orange and fuchsia families to keep things interesting. The colour saturated with just a couple of swipes, and I’ve found that the pretty nude tone I have been playing with sticks around for a good five hours. The unprecedented weightlessness and moisturisation - coupled with immense coverage – is really what sets this formula apart from many of its contemporaries. 

To use start by clicking the base of the tube to release lip colour. Apply to lips directly from the tube, using the teardrop shape to achieve a crisp, precise line. Because the tube is non-retractable, I recommend releasing only as much lip colour as you need and this baby will last and last.
