All about: the Bobbi Brown Remedies collection
I am an absolute sucker for apothecary-style packaging for skin and body formulas, so I was always destined to fall head over heels for Bobbi Brown’s new Remedies collection.
Made up of a selection of targeted skincare solutions, Remedies was reportedly inspired by the firm's holistic approach to beauty and they look just perfect. Combining beauty and wellness, the petite collection of six skin enhancing treatments has been designed to target specific skincare needs and enhance the complexion and is due out January 2017.
Each of the "superblend" concentrates is applied in the form of drops, twice a day. Each product can be used individually or together and can be layered with a moisturiser or even, foundation.
From dehydration, irritation and damage from external factors to excess sebum, the new range caters to the needs of all skin types and tackles specific day-to-day skincare problems.
To begin, Bobbi Brown has developed three concentrates to “improve vitality”, boost hydration and strengthen the structure of skin. Skin Reviver (N°91) is a potent green blend of green algae, Brussels sprouts and spinach that refreshes unhealthy, tired or damaged skin for a brighter, plumper complexion. Skin Moisture Solution (N°86), based on hyaluronic acid and mineral waters, promises intense hydration and restored suppleness for parched, uncomfortable skin. Skin Fortifier (N°93), a rich blend of lipids, helps strengthen skin that has lost vitality and resistance to help fend off future damage.
Next up is a Skin Relief (N°80) concentrate, formulated with red algae and algae extracts to calm sensitive skin prone to redness and irritation, while the Skin Clarifier (N°75) for pore and oil control is a mix of emollient oils and salicylic acid to unclog pores and regulate sebum levels.
The final product in the Remedies line is the Skin Salve (N°57) balm, which differs in texture to the concentrated treatment drops and feels incredible on the skin. Formulated with shea butter, beeswax, and extracts of turmeric and licorice, the balm repairs, protects and nourishes skin and is my pick for times of seasonal change, harsh cold winters and long haul flights. It is perfect for chapped, super dry spots and has an earthy scent to remind you that it’s doing good, and should be used at night for optimal healing.

"Remedies is the perfect fusion of beauty and wellness - it’s the ultimate skin enhancer,” says Bobbi herself, and the Remedies range aims to establish a firm connection between your body, your mind, and your spirit. In Bobbi’s words, “eating right and exercising is more important than what you put on your face," to which I say "hell yes!" These treatments are envisioned as energy boosters for the skin with a goal to enhance skin’s overall health, instead of masking its flaws. How can anyone argue with that?
