Get the look: Zoe Kravitz at the Met Gala 2018, beauty by YSL

From the minute that actor and musician – and Yves Saint Laurent beauty ambassador - Zoë Kravitz put one dainty foot onto the red carpet at last night’s Met Gala, is was pure perfection from the ground up. Wearing a Saint Laurent dress and shoes and Jacob & Co. jewellery a carrying a Guiseppe Zanotti bag, her arrival at “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” was topped off by a flawless beauty look that although relatively simple, emphasised that incredible bone structure and so much more.
The Big Little Lies actress had makeup artist Nina Park to perfect her complexion, and the creative said that the beauty look for the night was inspired by ‘bare skin’, opting for monochromatic dusty beiges and subdued rose for the eyes, cheeks and lips. The muted colour tone was designed to accentuate the lace and shine of Kravitz’s dress, which was the perfect mix of sexy and chic.
Here’s the run down on ‘how to’ with YSL Beauty:
BASE
After cleansing, Nina prepped Zoe’s skin with Or Rouge Face Cream, before Touche Éclat Glow Show #3 Sunset was used to create a lit-from-within glow from under makeup, concentrating on the tops of the cheekbones, under the brow bone and the sides of the forehead.
Next Touche Éclat All In One Glow in B40 Sand was blended out with fingers. Touche Éclat N 4.5 was used to brighten under the eyes and around the mouth, chin and tops of the cheeks.
Nina set the makeup using the Poudre Compact Radiance Perfect Universelle across the T zone to keep Zoe’s complexion flawless.
BROWS
Using small strokes, Nina elongated and exaggerated the shape of the actress’ brows using Dessin Des Sourcils Brow Pencil in Dark Brown, before combing them through with Couture Brow N. 1 Brundore.
EYES
Within a medium synthetic brush, Nina placed a wash of Kiss & Blush Duo Stick N. 6 across Zoe’s lids and under her bottom lash line. She then swept a sheer layer of The Couture Contouring Palette in Rosy Contouring to deepen the crease and set.
The darker colour was used on the crease and bottom lash line, the lighter on the brow bone.
CHEEKS:
Touche Éclat All In One Glow in B50 was used as a contour to warm up the skin, before Kiss & Blush Duo Stick N. 6 was pressed onto the apples of the cheeks and blended into the contour.
LIPS
Dessin Des Levres Lip Liner #14 Rose Fume was used to shape Zoe’s lips, then blurred lightly with a Q-Tip to give the finish a more lived in feel. Using the Kiss & Blush Duo Stick N. 6, she pressed the neutral colour into the lips before adding Rouge Pur Couture N. 10 Beige Tribute to create dimension.
