Get the look: Lancôme’s Lupita Nyong’o at the 91st Academy Awards

You’d have to be living under a rock not to know that the 91st Academy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, and it the red carpet was the usual fascinating hotbed of hits, misses and ‘wow’ moments. Conspicuously absent from the madness was the always-incred Lupita Nyong’o, but yes, she was there. And she slayed. The Oscar-winning actress opted to skip this year's red carpet, which was a bummer as she wore the most stellar gown for the occasion, and had an equally as fabulous beauty look to match. Sharing a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, the star revealed her look for the night: a gorgeous, white feathered Oscar de la Renta gown straight off the runway from the fashion house's Fall 2019 show at New York Fashion Week. Celebrity Makeup Artist Nick Barose created a ‘pearl tone’ look to grace the Lancôme ambassadress’ flawless features, and it was a match made in heaven.

“For the Academy Awards, Lupita’s white feathery dress called for a feminine and flirty look,” said Barose of the makeup, which – naturally - was all from the Lancôme line up. “I did so by playing up the look with pearlized eyes, flirty lashes and matte raspberry tone lips. The key was mixing metallic pearl-toned eye shadows and placing lashes on the outer corners to make the look party-ready.”

SKIN

BASE

* Use a damp sponge to blend Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation in 550 on the face, and fade out toward the jawline

* Apply Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer in 510 under eyes

* Dab Lancôme Long Time No Shine Loose Setting Powder in Deep, focusing on the T Zone and leave perimeter of the face sheer to bring out the glow

* Add Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Custom Highlighting Drops in Bronze Glow on top of cheekbones

EYES

* Use the Lancôme Starlight Sparkle Eyeshadow Palette and Lancôme Color Design Starlight Sparkle Eyeshadow Palette with a damp brush. Apply various shades of silvery pewter, using the lighter silver tone on the lids and the darker tones on outer corners, to then blend up to the brow bones. For extra drama, wet a liner brush and dab the lighter silver shade in inner corners to add dimension

* For the inner corners, apply the metallic eye shadow with a small eyeliner brush to catch the light

* Line upper lash lines with Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil in Noir Intense to create a base shape for the eyes

LIPS
