Beauty news: Me Today unveils new Vitamin Serums and Botanical Oils
Over lockdown and winter I fell in love with New Zealand wellness brand, Me Today’s hand lotion and lip balm, which did double duty on cold days and through thousands of hand washings. Insanely well-priced as well as efficacious, they have now gone on rotate in my list of repeat buys.
With that in mind, I was excited to hear that the brand has further added to its skincare line with the arrival of four vitamin serums and two botanical oils, targeted especially for modern day skincare needs and based on scientific evidence.
The serums are formulated with active vitamins and synergistic natural botanicals to provide targeted treatment for skin, so you know you’re getting what it says on the bottle and nothing else besides. This means that what is in there gets to shine, and you can select what you need accordingly.
The Vitamin Bounce B5 Serum is enriched with vitamin B5 (2%), vegan hyaluronic acid (2%) and hydrating botanicals watermelon, aloe vera and cucumber, to deeply hydrate and plump your skin. Opt for this serum if you’re looking for a bouncy and dewy complexion, and it’s perfect for bringing life back to post-winter skin.
The Vitamin Glow C Serum has highly stable vitamin C (6%) at its heart, along with botanicals strawberry and kiwi seed, which are both rich in vitamin C. It goes to work on the early signs of sun damage, and brightens your skin tone overall.
The Vitamin Purify B3 Serum goes to work using vitamin B3 niacinamide (5%) & Gigawhite, a blend of seven skin purifying botanicals created by the brand to clarify and refine skin. It’s great for blemishes, and working on pores.
Last up, the Vitamin Renew A Serum, which is enriched with vitamin A (0.3%) and anti-ageing botanicals bakuchiol (2%) and rosehip to firm skin. It strengthens the skin’s natural barrier and targets fine lines and wrinkles, making it great for older skins in particular.
All of the serums come with a super-affordable RRP of $44.99, meaning you can possibly grab a couple over time to have on hand depending on your skin’s needs.
Next up, the oils. Anyone that checks in here regularly will know that I’m a huge fan of oils - body oils, hair oils and facials oils - and love the fact that nine times out of ten, they are brilliant multi-taskers and are great travel companions too.
Cleansing your face with one is a given with me, but for many, using oils on the face in particular may seem counterintuitive, especially those who associate it with breakouts and the like. Well it just ain’t true, and there are more and more great facial oils arriving on the market all the time that are making their way into bathroom cabinets across the globe.
Me Today botanical oils contain 99%+ naturally derived ingredients, are cruelty free and vegan friendly, and are blended specially to treat modern day skincare needs.
The Botanical Miracle Facial Oil is a winner in my books, and feels so light on the skin given its impressive ingredient deck. A blend of nine botanical oils loaded with omega 3, 6 & 9, antioxidants and vitamins to restore and moisturise your skin, it absorbs like a charm as it strengthens the skin’s natural barrier and calms redness and irritation. I love that it contains hemp seed oil, which works wonders on my rosacea.
The second oil is the Botanical Organic Rosehip Oil, which is an oil with proven results that has been a beauty buzz for some time now. The Me Today formula is certified organic cold-pressed rosehip oil, loaded with 90% omega 3, 6 & 9, to renew and smooth skin. Like the serums, the oils are just $44.99, and all come highly recommended.
The entire Me Today skincare and supplement range is available online now at www.metoday.com, www.lifepharmacy.co.nz, and in selected Unichem and Life Pharmacy stores nationwide.
