Beauty review: Oribe The Cleanse Clarifying Shampoo
Sometimes your hair just needs to hit the reset button. Especially if like me, you’re addicted to dry shampoo once the warmer months hit. Whether I’m rushing around or hitting the gym or pilates studio, you can pretty much guarantee that I have some on hand, and it’s also my go-to for dragging out a salon blow wave as long as I can.
My pick for a clean slate? Oribe’s The Cleanse Clarifying Shampoo, which is the dream product for when regular shampoo just can't hack it, purifying my tresses and scalp without stripping their essence.
Safe for colour and keratin-treated tresses, the nourishing shampoo uses a very clever aerosol mousse formula to create a creamy, dark grey lather. The latter is due to the presence of volcanic ash, which as it mixes with water, detoxifies and polishes away dirt, oil, and product build up. Magic! Green tea extract is also included for its ability to strengthen strands, while eucalyptus invigorates your scalp. After getting rid of all that mineral build up, your hair will be revealed in all its glory —and it does all that without parabens, sulfates, or sodium chloride.
As well as polishing away dirt, oil and product build up, The Cleanse Clarifying Shampoo also removes mineral build up from hard water and chlorine (making it perfect for summer days après-pool) and is great for prepping hair for treatments and processing. You can use it once a week or as desired, and you can even use it for a double wash for ultra-clean hair that still sports a bounce.
Highly recommended, and if a little on the spendy side at $77 – it’s totally worth it.
