Beauty review: Murad Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial

Over the past twelve months we’ve all gotten a lot better at performing almost salon-worthy facials at home, because practice most definitely makes perfect! If you’re a sensitive type like me though, one of the key steps you often miss is exfoliation, for fear of going too hard, too soon and ending up with a flare as a result. One product that definitely does the business without any adverse effects however, is Murad's new Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial – a tube of sunny-hued goodness that is clinically proven to smooth texture—in just one use.
Impressive from the get-go, Vitamin C Triple Exfoliating Facial is a resurfacing vitamin C facial with physical, enzymatic, and chemical exfoliants. This makes it a triple threat that gently but effectively and visibly smooths, brightens, and boosts radiance for glowing benefits. The brand calls the results “comparable to a microdermabrasion facial”, but without the associated redness that so many of us experience.
The full line up of exfoliants in Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial are…
Physical Exfoliants: Micro-mineral exfoliants that visibly remove dead surface cells for dramatically smoother-looking skin .
Enzymatic Exfoliants: High-performing enzymes that dissolve oil, debris, and dead cells for radiant-looking skin.
Chemical Exfoliants: Glycolic, lactic (AHA), and salicylic acids (BHA)to visibly exfoliate, brighten, and purify.

Designed to be used to target dark spots, dullness, and uneven texture in particular, the formula also includes gold-stabilised vitamin C, with 55 per cent more antioxidant power than traditional vitamin C and the ability to support healthier-looking skin and a brighter, more even tone. Like all Murad products, this wonder is blissfully free of parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, mineral oil, oxybenzone, and sulfates SLS & SLES, and it is also vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free.
So how did it stack up after a few weekly sessions? Wonderfully thank you, delivering an extra glow that is so needed at this trans seasonal time of year. It’s brilliant for use the night before a special occasion or event, allowing makeup to literally glide on with ease.
To use, massage the formula onto clean, dry skin using a circular motion. The hugely satisfying – and clever! - colour-changing formula indicates sufficient physical exfoliation and even application so no product is wasted, and you get the dream result, every time. You leave it on for up to ten minutes (I started off with five, then gradually increased to ten), then wet hands and use a sweeping motion to rinse off and complete your facial.
Suitable for Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily skin types, the Murad Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial comes highly recommended. In clinic now, it has an RRP of $139 NZD.
