Beauty review: Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Lipcolor
The probability of finding a long-lasting liquid lipstick that feels as good as it looks was next to none up until a few years ago, when gradually some clever formulas began to arrive on the block that delivered just that. Sadly though, many of them came with a considerable price tag, so filling your kit with more than one shade was for many, a stretch too far. Most of the all day formulas were also matte, which is a favourite finish of mine but hey, sometimes you just want to change things up! The search for an affordable, long lasting velvet or satin finish seemed almost impossible.
Not so with Revlon’s gorgeous new ColorStay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick, which is a surprisingly comfortable, high pigment, satin finish formula that lasts and lasts. And lasts. Promising “Lasting Colour in One Swipe “, the brilliantly colourful, longwearing lipstick formula contains conditioning Blackcurrant Seed oil and Vitamin E, which help keep the colour flexible and comfort all day. The aforementioned natural wonders also add creamy texture, maintain a super flattering satin sheen and create a lightweight moisturising feel for a bare lips sensation despite the considerable colour payoff. The non-drying formula also contains Revlon’s exclusive concentrate and Flexible Film technology so the colour moves with your lips to prevent cracking and flaking, and the colour wears evenly and remains transfer- resistant, water-resistant and smudge-proof all day. Magic!
I love that this formula is an affordable, highly effective dupe for many of the luxe brand versions of a stay all day satin out there, and that no liner in needed thanks to the serious pigment factor. With just one swipe, use the pointed-tip to define your lips, then fill in with the soft welled doe-foot for up to 16 hours of wear.
Available in 12 vivid, satin-finish shades and with an RRP of $30.00, this baby is available right now at farmers.co.nz – and yep, one is most definitely not enough!
