Beauty news: MECCA launches the MECCA Talks podcast... and an app is on the way
MECCA Brands has announced the arrival of your new favourite podcast - MECCA Talks, deep diving into beauty on all podcast platforms including Apple and Spotify.
MECCA Talks season one landed yesterday, with a new 45-minute episode dropping each week for the next eight weeks. Expect a raft of fascinating conversations, starting with a chat with MECCA’s Founder and Co-CEO, Jo Horgan about her jump into the beauty business and the beginnings of the brand. From misplacing the takings on the first day of opening on Toorak Road in 1997 to 100+ stores filled with the best brands, education and experiences beauty has to offer, it is a chat full of wisdom for beauty obsessives and entrepreneurs-to-be alike.

Hosted by MECCA’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kate Blythe, and Head of Content, Zara Wong — the podcast goes beyond what you see in MECCA’s multiple stores and swings open the doors to the global beauty industry and MECCA’s network of friends, founders and collaborators. The new podcast will put MECCA in competition with not just lifestyle publishers that focus on the beauty and wellness space but also Adore Beauty’s podcast, Beauty IQ Uncensored, which has been downloaded an amazing two million times. I’m predicting the MECCA podcast to be a runaway hit, and then some.
And if all that wasn’t news enough, MECCA is also set to reveal another digital initiative, the long-awaited and highly anticipated MECCA app, which will be dropping this August. The MECCA app has been created for the beauty obsessed (and intrigued), and will be a must-download for instant access to scroll and shop beauty’s most wanted brands.
