Beauty news: Jeuneora adds a double-action Vitamin C serum to their premium lineup
The antioxidant properties of vitamin C (AKA ascorbic acid) and its role in collagen synthesis make the sunny-hued little beauty a vital molecule for skin health. Dietary and topical ascorbic acid have beneficial effects on skin cells, and some studies have even shown that vitamin C may help prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage. To break the news gently: you NEED the stuff on your face, as well as in your diet. Lucky for us there’s some clever skincare brands doing unique things with it, and formulas to suit every skin.
As of this week, brighter, more radiant skin awaits with antioxidant-rich Jeuneora Brightening Booster, the latest addition to the New Zealand beauty and wellness brand’s killer line up of premium skincare.
Combining two high-potency forms of Vitamin C – 20 per cent Stabilised Vitamin C Solution and Kakadu Plum Fruit Extract, the world’s richest source of Vitamin C – Brightening Booster goes to work visibly reducing the appearance of dark spots, dull skin, and wrinkles; and supports collagen production while protecting against free radicals and environmental pollution.
To complement its powerful Vitamin C ingredients, Brightening Booster includes Hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid and a botanically sourced Lipid Complex to keep skin feeling plump, hydrated, calm and happy. The latter is especially important to types like me whose skin is on the dry side, and makes it perfect for use all year round.
“Vitamin C is definitely having a moment in the skincare world, and for good reason. It’s one of the most powerful ingredients for targeting skin concerns like dark spots, dull skin, and uneven skin tone, and helps to brighten, neutralise, and de-stress skin,” says Monique Kaminski, Jeuneora founder.
“Unlike some Vitamin C serums, this little cutie smells ah-mazing, doesn’t leave your skin feeling tacky and doesn’t pill. It’s designed to be used in conjunction with the rest of our skincare range for glowing, gorgeous skin.”
Like all of Jeunora’s creations, Brightening Booster is vegan, cruelty-free, dermatologist tested and approved, and free from all the usual nasties including parabens, petroleum, phthalates, formaldehyde, palm oil, SLS, LES, TEA, and DEA. The packaging is also just oh so sunny and gorgeous, as well as made from 20 per cent post-consumer recycled plastic, which is 100 per cent recyclable through Jeuneora’s free TerraCycle Recycling Programme.

The lowdown on Vitamin C with Jeunora’s Monique Kaminski
What stage in my skincare routine should I use Vitamin C?
With a targeted Vitamin C serum, it's best to apply it after you cleanse and before you apply moisturisers and oils. This is because you want your most active skincare products to sit closest to your skin so they can be most effective.
Can I overuse Vitamin C?
It really depends on the type of Vitamin C that you use. It's so important to choose Vitamin C products that use gentle, non irritating forms of Vitamin C that obviously still have enough grunt to get the job done! We specifically chose to use a 20% Stabilised Vitamin C Solution (a form of L-Ascobic Acid) in our Brightening Booster because it's gentle, stable, effective, suitable for all skin types and most people can happily use it every day.
What time of day should I use Vitamin C?
With its antioxidant properties, Vitamin C is a fantastic option in the morning to help protect your skin from free radicals throughout the day.
How should I start to incorporate Vitamin C into my skincare routine?
It's a good idea when starting any new skincare product to begin slowly - you could try using it a couple of days a week and slowly build up.
Do I need to use SPF in conjunction with Vitamin C skincare?
Absolutely! SPF is a daily non-negotiable no matter what you're putting on your face, but especially if you're trying to correct dark spots. There's no point in using a Vitamin C serum if you're not also protecting your skin from future damage.
What other skincare products are the most effective when used in conjunction with Vitamin C?
Vitamin C works well with many other skincare ingredients, but especially Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide and Vitamin E. We love pairing our Brightening Booster with our antioxidant-rich multitasking serum #TBT, which is rich in all three of those ingredients. It also works beautifully with our GoLightly Day Cream which includes Hyaluronic Acid and Jojoba Oil (rich in Vitamin E) and a special ingredient that helps protect your skin against blue light pollution. If you're using retinoids in your skincare routine, we recommend using Vitamin C and retinoids at different times of the day (e.g Vitamin C every morning and retinoids ever second night). When layered together they can be irritating for some people.
Designed for daily use, Jeuneora Brightening Booster, 15ml RRP $55, is available now from Jeuneora’s online store.
