All about: The Ordinary’s The Bright Set

If you’re anything like me, right now your default setting is a bit lacklustre, and a lot needing a holiday. Complicated skincare routines are just a step too far at the best of times, so I’m all about keeping it simple for healthy skin when I’m feeling a little subpar.

This is where do-it-all wonders like The Ordinary’s The Bright Set are an actual godsend – taking all of the hard work out of choosing what’s best, and what works together to deliver the optimum result.
Composed of four products, this recently releases set gently cleanses the skin, targets the look of dark circles in the eye contour, promotes radiant, healthy-looking skin, and provides mild exfoliation for visible clarity – all of which get a big thumbs up from me as we hurtle towards the end of the year. The full line-up and what each product is there for is thus:

Squalane Cleanser
One of my all-time favourite cleansing formulas for a myriad of reasons, this gentle cleansing wonder is formulated to target makeup removal whilst leaving the skin feeling smooth, plump and moisturised. The formula incorporates the hydrating super ingredient squalane, alongside other lipophilic esters, that are gentle, moisturising and efficient in dissolving makeup and dirt.

Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
The perfect solution for when you’re burning the (Christmas) candle at both ends, this light-textured formula contains an extremely high 5% concentration of caffeine, supplemented with highly-purified Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside (EGCG). Independent studies have shown that topical use of these ingredients can help reduce looks of puffiness and of dark circles in the eye contour. Just massage a small amount onto the eye contour AM and PM and watch the magic happen!

Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution
An exceptionally-stable solution of 15% Ethylated Ascorbic Acid, this water-free formula offers a direct-acting approach to achieving a radiant, healthy-looking skin tone. Vitamin C is an effective, multifunctional antioxidant that targets the appearance of uneven skin tone, dullness and signs of ageing. This ethylated form is close in molecular weight to L-Ascorbic Acid, offering a direct-acting approach like L-Ascorbic Acid, to achieving a radiant and healthy-looking skin tone.

Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
This is where the serious brightening happens, with a formula that offers mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity. It also contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative and is further supported with inclusion of ginseng root and aloe vera for both visible radiance and skin soothing benefits. Used ideally in the PM, after cleansing, saturate a cotton pad with the formula and sweep across face and neck.

The Ordinary’s The Bright Set is available right now, and is definitely here to take the hard work out of great skin.
