Christmas countdown: Kiehl’s Holiday collection 2021

Each year US skincare brand and modern beauty icon Kiehl’s unveil limited edition versions of some of their best sellers as reinterpreted by some of the world’s most unique and innovative artists. Over the years they have become collectables, and are always far too awesome looking to hide away in the bathroom cabinet!

To continue this time-honoured tradition, Kiehl’s is celebrating its 170th (!!!) holiday season with an extended collection of the brand’s most beloved skincare products, encased in whimsical, limited-edition designs created in collaboration with artist partner, French illustrator Marylou Faure (above). Faure, whose previous clients include Nike, Apple, and Google, is also renowned for her commitment to social and ethical causes, which made her a perfect collaborator for Kiehl’s Holiday 2021.

For this year’s artwork, Faure captures the unmatched energy of New York City and turns the iconic East Village neighbourhood into a magical dreamland filled with diverse, and unique characters sharing in holiday festivities. Kiehl’s Global Head of Creative, Maria Gustafson explains, “To capture the magic of our Kiehl’s Dreamland, we wanted an artist who could express the joyful spirit of the holidays in an upbeat and creative way. Marylou Faure’s bold colours and diverse characters brought the world of Kiehl’s to life with a unique and playful spirit.” In true block party fashion, friends, customers and even Mr. Bones can be seen enjoying NYC street-food treats, decorating store windows and dancing to an outdoor band, and the entire collection is unabashedly festive from start to finish!

Kiehl’s remains committed to its Future Made Better initiatives with a focus on creating more sustainable packaging, and this continues with its holiday offering. For the first time ever, body care staples Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and cult favourite Crème de Corps will be available in newly repackaged bottles integrated with FSC certified paper, to significantly reduce the amount of plastic needed. I love that the Super Multi-Corrective Cream - Kiehl’s #1 trusted multi-tasker for anti-ageing – also joins the holiday collection, making for a gifting selection across the ages.
