Beauty news: Jo Malone London signs new Global Ambassador, Adwoa Aboah

In huge news for the modern fragrance house, Jo Malone has announced their newest Jo Malone London Global Ambassador in the form of multi-hyphenate beauty, Adwoa Aboah.
An actor, mental health activist and model for our times, Adwoa is one of the most recognisable faces and courageous voices of her generation, speaking out about her own mental health struggles and using her platform to promote and normalise difficult conversations to build and inspire hope. Recognised as a Next Generation Leader on the cover of Time magazine and an alumni of the prestigious Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, 29-year-old Adwoa is a globally renowned figure, celebrated for her roles in the film and fashion worlds, as well as her outspoken and dedicated activism for young women and girls through her platform, Gurls Talk.

During her youth in west London, the statuesque beauty was a member of the prestigious National Youth Theatre, where she studied acting and found her love for the craft — a passion that has followed her into her career today — going on to complete a bachelor’s degree in Modern Drama at Brunel University. She is also a committed advocate, having founded her own organisation, the aforementioned Gurls Talk, a community-led organisation dedicated to promoting the mental health and wellbeing of adolescent girls and young women. Gurls Talk aims to destigmatise mental health conversations while fostering a supportive community that gives all girls a voice. Adwoa’s work with Gurls Talk is expansive, having already held events in cities across the globe and reached millions more online.
As a model, Adwoa has featured in a vast array of esteemed international publications including the American, Italian, Spanish, German, and Mexican editions of Vogue, as well as W, i-D, Dazed, and ELLE. She has starred in campaigns for the likes of Calvin Klein, Rimowa, Burberry and Christian Dior, and will feature in the upcoming outing for Jo Malone’s iconic English Pear & Freesia.

As a mental health activist, Adwoa will bring the mental health awareness work the brand has been involved in for the past decade to the forefront. Never shying from difficult and taboo subjects but encouraging honesty and openness, together she and Jo Malone intend to create a community that cultivates kindness and support.
“I’m very grateful for this partnership as it puts mental health at the forefront of our collaboration, we seriously align in our passions,” says Adwoa. “I’m really excited to challenge tradition, by attracting new audiences to Jo Malone London because of the values it champions. I want people to know about the work that Jo Malone London has been doing for mental health charities for years and allow people to feel part of something. I’m incredibly excited about this position and the things we plan to do together.”
I can’t wait to see what they create.
