Hair how to: Hailey Bieber at the 2022 Met Gala

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, also known as the Met Gala, is considered by many as the 'Super Bowl of celebrity red carpets', and anyone who has been on social over the last 24 hours will have seen their feed literally FLOODED with Met looks.
The glamorous event took place on Monday, May 2 in the Upper East side neighbourhood in New York City, with the dress code 'gilded glamour' to match the theme of 'In America: An Anthology of Fashion,' a continuation of last year's 'In America: A Lexicon of Fashion'.
The best dressed guests of the night were many, with Hailey Bieber amongst those hailed for truly bringing it on the red carpet. The model, 25, turned heads as she arrived at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in a custom Yves Saint Laurent white gown with a feather trim coat, reportedly a reference to a look worn by Jerry Hall in years past. KMS Celebrity Stylist, Bryce Scarlett worked with Hailey to help create her overall red-carpet vision, which included the perfect hair look to match.
Scarlett says he was inspired by Hailey’s statuesque gown, creating a high shine look with a subtle, restrained nod to late 70s glamour with the help of essentials from KMS. Read on for a breakdown of how to recreate the sleek, seemingly effortless style…

1. Starting with clean, towel-dried hair, Scarlett applied a walnut-sized amount of KMS ADDPOWER Strengthening Fluid to ensure her hair is resilient for the styling ahead. He then followed by applying KMS ADDPOWER Thickening Spray to the roots to give a fullness to the hair.
2. Next, he dried the hair, allowing him to lift from the roots while adding a smooth finish.
3. Scarlett then used a 1” Curling Iron, wrapping the hair from the mid-shaft to the ends to give it a smooth, rounded finish that will lay nicely once the final look was completed.
4. He then sectioned out the top triangle of hair (from the peak of each eyebrow back to the height of the crown) and began to slick the remaining hair back into a ponytail, focusing on lifting at the eye area straight back to the height of the crown, using a Smoothing Brush and KMS HAIRSTAY Working Hairspray.
5. To tame any flyaways, Scarlett worked an almond sized amount of KMS CONSCIOUS STYLE Styling Putty around the mid and end of the pony, before softly forming the chignon.
6. Taking the remaining triangle of hair, he formed a clean centre part before brushing it back and incorporating into the chignon. This allowed him to have the freedom to really control the shape around the part while giving the style a slightly more modern shape.
7. Finally, Scarlett locked the look into place with the KMS HAIRSTAY Working Hairspray and a mascara wand, which allowed him to delicately grab any stray hair.
