Beauty news: Dermalogica adds to the Clear Start range with Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel
New season, new approach to skincare – and if you’re living with breakouts post-winter and are hoping to avoid them this summer, the answer to addressing may have just been revealed.
New to Dermalogica's Clear Start range, Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel is an exfoliating peel designed to fast-track your journey to clear skin, one glittery purple drop at a time. Its 2 percent BHAs and Salicylic Acid (which exfoliates deep under the skin to banish blackheads and breakouts) makes it bad news for acne, while its blend of 10 percent AHAs, Lactic, Mandelic, and Azelaic acids, are great news for resurfacing skin and bringing back your glow.
One of the most effective treatments for clearing breakouts of all kinds is chemical exfoliation, but not all chemical exfoliants are created equal i.e.. a higher acid percentage isn’t always better. In fact, it can irritate the skin, and even lead to a chemical burn (avoid!). So Clear Start has formulated Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel specifically for breakout-prone skin using the perfect blend of AHAs and BHAs to target breakouts, resurface skin for a smoother texture, and fade post-breakout marks.
If the Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel wasn’t already impressive enough, it also comes with the aforementioned mesmerising iridescent shimmer, which is thanks to its clever blend of natural colourants and minerals.
Caroline Parker, Dermalogica New Zealand’s Head of Education says of the newbie: “This is the perfect addition to Clear Start’s acne-fighting range, plus it’s completely recyclable, something that is very important to us. The difference between this product and other peels on the market is that it’s specifically designed for the younger user to reduce active breakouts. It gently resurfaces the skin for a brighter more even complexion and visibly fades existing post-breakout scars.”
So how do I use Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel? Once or twice a week in the evening after cleansing, apply a generous amount all over the face and neck. Slight tingling is normal, so don’t panic! Leave it on for 7-10 minutes, then rinse with cool water. Follow with your favourite moisturiser and you’re done – too easy. One note however: always remember to wear your SPF during the day as AHAs can make skin more sensitive to the sun.
Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel is available now at authorised Dermalogica Skin Centres, Department Stores, Life Pharmacies and online.
