Golden Globes hair how to: Michelle Yeoh's sleek side part
Wearing a glittering Armani Privé gown for her first Golden Globes win, absolute icon Michelle Yeoh was also a winner on the red carpet – with a dream beauty look to match.
For her winning night, Michelle Yeoh entrusted makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani with her look — which included Dior Beauty’s Forever Skin Veil Primer Forever Foundation and Forever Skin Correct Concealer – as well as celebrity hairstylist Robert Vetica. Her sleek side-parted hair, neutral rose-kissed skin, and chunky black winged liner were both refreshingly modern and completely timeless, a bit like Yeoh herself.
Vetica – who also styles Cate Blanchett - used Better Not Younger products and Dyson Hair Tools to create the star’s hair look, which he described as “fresh, chic, and elegant”. It’s also the kind of look that could work just as well IRL as on the red carpet, and I’ve got a how-to from the man himself…
1. To create a style that could keep up with the multi-faceted Everything Everywhere All At Once actress, Vetica started by prepping Michelle’s hair with Better Not Younger’s Lift Me Up Hair Thickener to create subtle volume and movement.
2. He then took the Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer professional edition and, using the Dyson SupersonicTM styling concentrator attachment ($59.00), blew the hair dry. This combination helped give the hair bounce and shine, ensuring the look was dynamic and didn’t look too heavy or static.
3. Concentrating on the low side part, knowing the goal was to have the hair sleek and straight for the final look, he began to blow dry the hair in each section
4. Vetica sprayed Better Not Younger No Remorse Heat Protection & Taming Spray as he went, section by section, to ensure a smooth and shiny look.
5. After the hair was completely dry and the side-part placement was exactly where Vetica wanted it, he used the Better Not Younger High Hold Thickening Hairspray to spray section by section.
6. He then went over each with the Dyson CorraleTM straightener ($749.00) 360° to ensure the perfect shine and protection from damage.
