95th ACADEMY AWARDS makeup how to: JANELLE MONÁE by Keita Moore for NARS

In a custom Vera Wang Haute Couture sheer turtleneck gown featuring hand-draped ruching down the entire length, multi-hyphenate Janelle Monáe was always going to make a statement at last night’s Oscars. Along with jewels from REZA, including a bold black choker and diamond earrings, she had the perfect beauty look to match, created using products you’ll find in your local MECCA store – how lucky is that?
Monáe wore her hair up in three cornrows, which were woven with metallic silver thread and prepared using all Bumble and bumble products, while her makeup look by superstar MUA Keita Moore was sheer perfection. NARS partnered with celebrity makeup artist Moore to create the makeup look, which was inspired by iconic black beauty icons of the ’60s. It featured bronzed peachy-toned skin, luxury lashes, a statement cat-eye, and a classic nude lip, allowing Monáe to serve major face (as always) all night long.

COMPLEXION

CHEEKS
