Get the look: Selena Gomez at the 2024 Golden Globes
The 2024 Golden Globes returned to their regularly scheduled prime time slot yesterday, and with them came a slew of glamorous fashion and beauty looks. Many a celebrity certainly knocked one out of the park, but multi-hyphenate superstar and beauty mogul Selena Gomez most definitely came to slay.
For the event, the 31-year-old wore a full face of her own brand Rare Beauty, complimenting her Red Silk Armani Privé dress with a deep, sultry colour palette that included pinks, warm metallics, brown, and burgundy. Her makeup was the work of Melissa Murdick, who first created flawless skin with Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation, Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer, and Positive Light Liquid Luminizer in the rose-gold shade "Transcend."
To emphasis her killer cheekbones, the makeup artist applied Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the nude-mauve "Hope" and Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick in "Happy Sol." Next came statement brows, with three products working their magic: Brow Harmony Shape & Fill Duo in "Brown Brow," Harmony Precision Pencil in "Brown Brow," and Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel. To create the sexy, smoked out eye look that worked so beautifully with the apple red of her gown, Murdick used the Give Yourself Grace Eyeshadow Palette, All of the Above Weightless Eyeshadow Stick and Perfect Strokes Longwear & Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in the burgundy shade of "Compassion." The last step was an application of Compassion Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream in "Kindness," a nude pink.
Step one: First we started with the new Living Proof Clarifying Detox Shampoo and followed with frizz Intense Moisture Mask to have optimal shine.
Step two: After towel drying the hair, I applied Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray and blow dried the hair with the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer Professional Edition and the professional styling concentrator attachment on medium heat and airflow settings.
Step three: Following, I smoothed the hair using the Dyson Corrale™ straightener on the medium heat setting and sectioned out the front hair pieces and clipped them away.
Step four: Then, I pulled her hair up in three sections to make sure it was secure with all meeting at the centre crown of her head.
Step six: I combed the front pieces into the ponytail leaving a centre part and sprayed with Living Proof ‘s Style Lab Control Hairspray to secure all-night hold.
Lastly, for her vampy manicure, Selena and her long-time nail artist, Tom Bachik, kept things relatively simple. The idea for Gomez's all-black nails came from her dress. "Selena’s custom dress is such an amazing red with black accents, and we felt the nails should play off that. The black high-gloss shine found in the flowers on the front was the perfect inspiration," Bachik shared in a statement. He partnered with nail care brand Essie for the big night and used the brand's nail polish in the aptly-named shade, Licorice, a rich jet black.
