New Year, New Fragrance: why you’ll love KAYALI’s newest scent, Eden Sparkling Lychee | 39 Eau de Parfum

The new year – and our heady summer months – are the perfect excuse to add a new fragrance to your scent wardrobe, and I for one have fallen hard for the fruity fabulousness that is KAYALI Eden Sparkling Lychee | 39 Eau de Parfum.
For those unfamiliar with the brand, Kayali was founded back in 2018 by beauty mogul and fragrance fanatic, Mona Kattan. Translating to ‘my imagination’ in Arabic, the Kayali brand is inspired by Mona’s rich Middle Eastern heritage, and the sacred ritual of layering scents to help you create your mood. The powerhouse creative collaborates with some of the world’s most renowned perfumers and sources the finest ingredients to create her signature scents, which are long-lasting, and cruelty-free as well as unabashedly fun. I love that Mona isn’t afraid to go big when it comes to her creations, and to lean towards the sexier side of scent as well as lightweight and fun.

Which brings me to Eden Sparkling Lychee | 39 Eau de Parfum, which I’ve been wearing ever since I received a sample late last year. Available right now at Sephora, it’s a shamelessly fruity, floral fragrance that delivers a beautiful blend of luscious lychee, tart blackcurrant and sweet candied violet. In the spirit of Kayali’s Eden Collection, Sparkling Lychee | 39 opens with a cocktail of mouth-watering fruity notes, which pair with a heart of flirty florals before the scent dries down to warm notes of sugared amber, delicious vanilla and sensual musk.
Mona again worked closely with dsm-firmenich senior perfumer, Gabriela Chelariu to create the long-lasting juice, with the perfumer also responsible for Kayali fragrances such as the cult fave, Vanilla | 28, the sold out The Wedding Silk Santal | 36, Lovefest Burning Cherry | 48, and the first Eden scent, Juicy Apple | 01.
“For this second chapter of the Eden Collection, Mona wanted an elegant yet fun fragrance, one that would be bold, modern, and fruity with and an explosion of joy,” says Chelariu. “When creating this juice, I used a recent trip to Thailand as my reference for this beautiful lychee note. I was strolling through a market and one of the stands was overflowing with piles of bright fruits. I thought straight away that lychees were vibrant and stunning with an exotic and voluptuous flavour. In the fragrance, I wanted to capture their colour, with a juicy, fruity explosion that sparkles.” It most certainly does, and it’s no surprise that the scent went seriously viral not long after its release and has been adopted as a new signature scent by lovers of fruity fragrances the world over.
