I try: iS Clinical's World-Renowned Fire & Ice facial at Saint Beauty

If you follow me on Instagram (@mshelene99!) you’ll know what a fan I am of Saint Beauty, an advanced skin and beauty salon nestled in the heart of Saint Heliers Bay Village, Auckland. It’s the most beautiful seaside haven of relaxation coupled with incredible knowledge about skin health, and every experience I have had there has surpassed my expectations – my skin literally *sings* long after I have left their premises (and then there’s the chance for a few moments on the beach afterwards, just perfect).
Now the very clever and kind Saint co-founders, Emma and Bex have welcomed the amazing US skincare brand iS Clinical to their gorgeous space, including the famous Fire & Ice Facial.

For those that might not have heard of it, iS Clinical by Innovative Skincare uses a fusion of traditional and western medicine to deliver seriously great results in terms of skin health and transformation. Their pharmaceutical-grade ingredients are 95-98 percent botanically derived and bio-identical, ensuring the highest quality, purity, and potency to ensure they deliver real results – every time. But back to the world-renowned Fire & Ice facial, which iS Clinical is so well known for. Also known as the ‘Red Carpet Facial’ by beauty fiends the world over, the legendary treatment has been the go-to for A-list celebrities like Selena Gomez, Julianne Moore, Suki Waterhouse, Victoria Beckham, and Gwyneth Paltrow, who love the workout it gives their skin in the lead up to special events. If it’s good enough for the likes of VB and GP then I am all about giving it a go, so when Saint invited me in to experience Fire & Ice one sunny autumn afternoon I could not get there fast enough.
My therapist for the Saint Fire & Ice Facial was Conci, who is new to the Saint team but brings a wealth of knowledge with her – especially of iS Clinical, a brand she knows well. I knew immediately that I was in great hands. In a nutshell, the Saint Fire & Ice Facial is a 60-minute clinically active treatment system designed to rapidly and safely resurface the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing, softening, and encouraging cellular renewal, making it the perfect pre-event red carpet-style treatment. Additionally, it includes LED light therapy, which is always a favourite of mine as it brings the glow like no other, while reducing inflammation.
The fire component consists of a heating glycolic peel, which certainly tingles but is very bearable, and worth the slightly uncomfortable feeling for the results it helps deliver. And is immediately cooled down by the ice component, which involves a rejuvenating masque with hyaluronic acid and aloe, massaged with cooling ice globes. The facial has zero downtime so perfect if you’re rushing in on a busy day, and your skin just feels next level good afterwards. Conci’s hands were seriously magical and gently coaxed my skin back to its best self, and the effect lasted for days after.
