All about: Huda Beauty Blush Filter Liquid Blush

I’ll admit it, for a long time blush scared me. It may have something to do with well-meaning makeup artists being a little heavy-handed over the years, or my own ineptitude coupled with an inability to “fix” a little too enthusiastic application (possibly the latter!).
But along came cream and liquid formulas, and I started to get a little more confident. They are also a lot kinder on mature skin, and can do wonders at ‘lifting’ an otherwise matte makeup look in the most insanely flattering way possible. I became enamoured of stick-style blushes, and as of now, am an absolute convert to liquid thanks to the incredible work of the inimitable Huda Kattan and her freshly dropped Huda Beauty Blush Filter Liquid Blush.
What’s it like? Well start by imagining a blush that effortlessly blends into your skin, creating a soft, luminous finish that looks like you've been blessed by the most flattering Instagram filter. And it’s buildable so can be as subtle or intense as you like – the dream!
An ultra lightweight, liquid blush with buildable pigments and finely milled micro-pearls for a soft-focus, high-impact glow, Blush Filter is very easy to love. It’s said that Huda is obsessed with achieving a filtered finish without the filter, and Blush Filter really does leave you with an airbrushed, soft glow that is most definitely my jam.

Available in five shades that work across all skin tones, Blush Filter also has a candy scent to complement the sweet shade names, which you either love or you don’t. Personally I love the slightly retro, sweet scents, which are perfectly paired with the following shades:
Cotton Candy: baby pink
Peach Sorbet: peachy tangerine
Strawberry Cream: dusty rose
Watermelon Pop: warm brick
Black Cherry: burnt berry

Each comes with a peanut-shaped doe-foot that makes application super easy. Just apply three dots of blush on your cheeks and blend with your fingers for a multi-dimensional, pigmented finish.
Huda says that she made Blush Filter “so we can have fun with beauty again”, and has even created several ways to wear them. The more traditional application is the aforementioned three dots and blend, or combine two shades for an ombre blush effect starting with three dots of the lightest shade at the centre of the cheek, followed by two dots of a darker shade higher up the cheekbone. Then blend, and set with the brand’s iconic Easy Bake Loose Baking and Setting Powder for an ‘airblushed’ finish.
