All about: IMAGE Skincare’s brand new suncare collection

Whenever I’ve quizzed beauty experts – be they dermatologists, makeup artists or cosmetic surgeons – for their pick when it comes to skincare that stops premature ageing in its tracks, they all agree that the most important thing you can do to keep your skin looking good well into old age is wear a sunscreen. Daily. No arguments, no forgetting on a cloudy day. Add to that the fact that an estimated 90 per cent of all melanomas in Australasia are caused by direct sunlight, making daily sunscreen use an absolute no brainer.
One of the most awarded skincare brands in spas around the globe, IMAGE Skincare is also famous for its highly efficacious suncare innovations, which are the dream both post-procedure and as an essential part of your regimen. Founded by an aesthetician and formulated by a plastic surgeon, the US-based brand counts A-listers like Margot Robbie and Megan Fox as fans, with Fox recently grabbing one of their newest sunscreens to take to Coachella after a recommendation from her makeup artist, Jenna Kristina. Kristina did the 37-year-old actress’s makeup for Coachella’s kickoff: the Celsius Cosmic Desert Event back in April, saying on Instagram: “Can’t send @MeganFox off to Coachella without good sunscreen like @ImageSkincare Daily Prevention Protect and Refresh Mist SPF 40 and eyeliner that lasts,”
I first fell in love with IMAGE Skincare’s suncare offering after trying their IMAGE Skincare Prevention+ Sun Serum SPF 30 – Tinted after a recommendation from a therapist. The all-mineral sunscreen serum plus skin tint delivers broad-spectrum SPF 30 protection with a sheer, featherweight finish. With plant squalane derived from sugarcane, it helps to moisturise the skin and gives a dewy glow that feels fresh, not heavy. The hydrating formula helps to defend the skin against dryness and other signs of premature skin ageing, and although it’s also available in an untinted formula, the sheer tint blends seamlessly on most skin tones.

Now however, IMAGE have added to their suncare offering six new formulations under the DAILY PREVENTION umbrella, all of which utilise patent-pending technology for the ultimate in anti-ageing hydration and unparalleled sun protection. I learnt more about the collection over a mid-winter ‘picnic’ lunch several weeks ago, with IMAGE Skincare’s International Education Manager, Jennifer Ahartz visiting from Tampa, Florida to spill the tea.
First up is the DAILY PREVENTION advanced smartblend mineral moisturiser SPF 50, which is a colour-correcting daily moisturiser that soothes, neutralises redness and boosts hydration to reinforce the skin's barrier while providing broad-spectrum protection for compromised or sensitive skin.
The ultra defense moisturiser SPF 50 delivers advanced antioxidant protection with a luminous veil of hydration, while DAILY PREVENTION protect and refresh mist SPF 30 (Fox’s favourite) is a clear, hydrating sunscreen spray that is the dream for touch-free reapplication and comes with a barely there feel. I’ve been using this particular release since being gifted a bottle on the day and I am in LOVE. And I can’t see it leaving my handbag anytime soon!
The pure mineral tinted moisturiser SPF 30 is another dreamy little wonder that is on my list to try, working to even out skin tone for a ‘your skin but better’ look while providing broad-spectrum sunscreen protection, while the pure mineral hydrating moisturiser SPF 30 delivers all-day hydration for dry skin types along with tip top protection. Lastly, DAILY PREVENTION sheer matte moisturiser SPF 30 smooths and helps minimise shine with oil-reducing microspheres, making it the dream for oily skin and when the humidity comes to play.
