Fragrance Friday: Troye Sivan's stunning personal fragrance brand, Tsu Lange Yur arrives at MECCA
"I'm not trying to brag, but people do tell me I smell really good—all the time…My skin smells nice, my hair smells nice. I take a lot of pride in that."
So says the groundbreaking, delightful and just plain gorgeous Troye Sivan, whose beautiful new fragrance brand, Tsu Lange Yur has just landed at MECCA (if you haven't seen super cute the video of Sivan surprising the team at MECCA HQ yet, I advise you to head to his Insta and check it out now!)
The first Australian fragrance brand to be welcomed into the esteemed MECCA Perfumeria, Tsu Lange Yur is the work of the talented artist and his older brother Steele Mellet, the idea kicking off in earnest after a video of the pop prince’s home in Melbourne, Australia went seriously viral three years ago. Fans' reaction and adoration for his taste in home decor and creation emboldened Sivan to take his passion for scent and style into the world, and the result is a brand unlike any other.
Yiddish for “to long years” and “to good years”, Tsu Lange Yor’s deeply personal range extends from bespoke wearable fragrances to candles and oils, as well as some incredibly chic, contemporary home objects. With a distinctly Australian imprint across the collection—from the design collaborations to the unique blends of notes drawn from local botanicals, landscapes, and experiences—Tsu Lange Yor aims to explore self-expression and belonging through a blend of beautiful scents unique to the Australian wearer. From the signature scent, TLY 5755, which features the world’s first use of Tasmanian Mountain Pepper in a fine fragrance, to SASSAFRAS’ nod to the Dandenong Ranges, where Sivan’s parents live, to POOL, which nods to hazy summer days spent at Fitzroy’s local swimming centre.
A glimpse into Sivan and Mellet’s creative minds, the brand is also a highlight of other Aussie talent, including collaborations with local sculpture artist Joel Adler and perfumer Craig Andrade, and the visual narratives of the collection courtesy of Joe Brennan, Lauren Bamford, Sarah Pritchard, and Byron Spencer. At MECCA, it’s all about finding the most interesting brands out there that are new to the game, and Tsu Lange Yor most definitely personifies that mission.
“Partnering with MECCA feels like a celebration of where we’ve come from and validation of our choice to root Tsu Lange Yor entirely in Australia—from inception to production,” says Sivan. “To be their first Australian fragrance label, and representing all the local and creative people we’ve worked with on such an iconic platform really fills me with pride.”
“The MECCA Perfumeria is an encounter of the unexpected, the wonderful, the magical, the decadent and the beautiful,” says MECCA’s Head of Fragrance, Virginia Woodger. “Our library of fragrances aims to transport our customers to destinations both known and unknown, from summer spots to memories once forgotten. We know Tsu Lange Yor will be welcomed by so many as the scent of home, an exploration of our own backyard.”
You too can celebrate the good years and the long years, with Tsu Lange Yor available exclusively from select MECCA stores and online at now.
