Welcome Glossier Boy Brow Arch, with expert intel from star MUA Harold James
The product you never knew you so desperately needed and dubbed “the pencil that knows your angles”, Glossier’s Boy Brow Arch is here and I’m in love!
Expanding the world of Boy Brow in style, Boy Brow Arch is a beautifully emollient pomade pencil with a 2-in-1 tip that both fills in and defines brows. Nearly a decade ago, Boy Brow became an instant classic, thanks to its creamy formula that fluffs up brows and gives them a flexible, never-flaky hold. Boy Brow Arch continues the important brow-tastic work with a pencil that’s able to deliver the soft, creamy texture and high pigment colour that you’d normally find in a poured pomade formula, and precise hair-like strokes with the ease and control that only a pencil can achieve. Pomades are every MUA’s go-to for full, dimensional brows, but traditional ones require the use of a detailing brush and are tricky – and annoying! - to use. Boy Brow Arch captures the fullness that these potted pomades deliver in a handy, easy-to-use pencil. Thank you Glossier! Meanwhile, the smudge-resistant and water-resistant formula ensures that the brows you draw in the morning will remain the brows you wear all day. SO much to love!
Available in nine shades, I’m personally obsessed by the two application techniques that are available to all thanks to the clever tip. I’ve been mainly using the precision edge on one side that draws in fine, hair-like flicks that fill the small gaps in my brows, while the larger, flat edge fills in broader areas for those that love a strong shape.
And as for that emollient quality I alluded to earlier? A coconut oil-derived moisturiser creates the uniquely soft (but not too soft!) texture that glides on smoothly while nourishing brows.
But why take just my word for it? Read on for celebrity MUA Harold James’s take on the must-have new release…

What about Boy Brow Arch makes it special and differentiates it from other brow pencils you’ve used?
Boy Brow Arch is a unique and standout brow pencil that sets itself apart from others with its waterproof and smudgeproof pomade formula. When I was introduced to it, I was amazed by the custom 2-in-1 tip shape. The sharp edge allows for fine, hair-like flicks, while the flat edge fills in brows for a natural yet defined look, offering precise application and long-lasting wear. I have been using Boy Brow Arch for a few weeks now and I have saved so much time in my brow steps.
What is one of your biggest brow pain points? How does Boy Brow Arch help address that pain point?
One of my main struggles with brows is achieving a natural yet defined look. Boy Brow Arch helps tackle this issue by providing a creamy formula that glides smoothly on the skin, allowing for detailed, precise strokes and shaping of the brows.
What are your tips for using the 2-in-1 custom applicator tip, spoolie, and innovative cap of the pencil to achieve different brow looks? How do you like to use Boy Brow Arch?
I would opt for the sharp edge for a defined look with precise strokes, while the flat edge can be used for a softer, more natural appearance. The sculpting cap on the pencil helps maintain the perfect angle and shape of the tip. I recommend sharpening the pencil tip regularly to fully benefit from the performance of Boy Brow Arch.
For me, I love using Boy Brow Arch to create defined brows by using the sharp edge for precise flicks, and the flat edge for a natural finish. I then shape and groom my brows (and my models’ brows) with the spoolie for a polished look.
How do you go about finding your brow shade?
When choosing my brow shade, I make sure to find one that matches my hair colour accurately.
How would you use Boy Brow Arch with the original Boy Brow? In what cases would you want to use Arch on its own?
I like to pair Boy Brow Arch with the original by using Arch for shaping and detailing, then adding original Boy Brow for a fuller, voluminous look. I use Arch on its own when I want a more defined and sculpted brow.
Tina Kunakey |
Who is your ultimate brow inspo? What makes them iconic? How can we use Boy Brow Arch to create the look?
My ultimate brow inspiration is French model and muse, Tina Kunakey. Her fluffy brows have a natural look with beautiful, full eyebrows. However, the contours are emphasised and shaped. To recreate a similar look, I would use Boy Brow Arch for precise, defined brows with the custom applicator tip and I'll use the flat edge to translate the fullness of the eyebrow.
Glossier Boy Brow Arch is available now and comes highly recommended!
