First impressions: the TYPEBEA four-step system for hair

Before I had even held a bottle of the elevated haircare brand’s shampoo in my hand, I had heard plenty about TYPEBEA. Like any smart new beauty name the hype began well before the release, and then come D-day – my feed was flooded with it!
Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I finally got my grubby little mitts on some samples of the high-performing haircare system, which was founded by Rita Ora and global beauty entrepreneur, Anna Lahey — the inimitable founder of Vida Glow, and now one of Ora's close friends. The brand’s key goal is to “revolutionise the way people feel about their hair”, and TYPEBEA is designed with hair growth and hair health in mind. And that’s all types of hair no less, which makes it all the more impressive.
The two founders, who spent three years developing the four core products, have both experienced hair loss and hair damage, and their struggles became the driver when it came to formulating a range clinically proven to benefit hair growth. And yes both women are hugely well-known and respected in their fields, but you get the feeling this really is a range designed for all - as opposed to being “just another a celebrity beauty brand”.

Powered by clean ingredients and scalp care actives, it offers a wonderfully sensorial and effective wash day routine for all hair types, and after just a few weeks I’m very much in love and excited to reap the benefits. The lineup is comprised of the following products, which are designed to work in concert for your healthiest, happiest hair yet:

G1 Overnight Boosting Peptide: a leave-in growth serum made of three peptides that Lahey notes those in their clinical studies saw results from after using just one 100mL bottle. It's also water-based rather than oil-based, so doesn't leave any residue and can be used on wet, dry, clean or dirty hair. For me this makes regular use a no-brainer, as it can slot effortlessly into any routine. Forgot to apply it the night before? Wake up, add a pipette and you’re good to go.

G2 Strength + Length Shampoo: a salicylic acid-based shampoo that gently exfoliates the scalp to slough off any debris or product buildup. This is essential to scalp health and therefore hair health, as much like when you apply expensive serums to your face, you want to know there are no barriers to them doing their best work.

G3 Strength + Length Conditioner: a plant-based keratin-infused conditioner that won't weigh down your hair and will support hair growth.

G4 Hydra-Gloss Treatment: a hydrating mask with hyaluronic acid to add shine and hydration. I love that this baby goes to work in just three minutes, and I’ve even been cocktailing it some days with the conditioner given my hair’s length and condition.

The hero ingredient across all four products is Baicapil™, an active that has been shown to stimulate hair growth, improve hair density and reduce hair loss in three months. The range is mainly focussed on supporting hair growth and strength rather than a finished look, which can easily be achieved with your chosen serum or spray. I’m guessing that these will come from TYPEBEA in time, but it’s a great move kicking off with a system that is focused on their particular USP.
I love that using the full system has left my hair healthy, full, and glossy, but also completely like its natural self, but better. I’m keen to see how it goes on the hair growth front, as although my hair is still thick and long, hormonal changes (thanks 52!) have meant that my bangs have thinned dramatically. I’ve been using the serum exactly on the areas of my forehead that are demonstrating this the most, and welcome the baby hairs that I hope will soon come my way!
